San Giusto a Rentennano

San Giusto winemaker Luca Martini originally wanted to become a baritone. When he became a father, he wanted more security for his family, and decided to give up singing and return to the family farm. His family began producing wine in 1905, which they continue to do to this day, with most family members still closely involved in the daily business.

“Being a good winemaker is much more important than engaging in public relations.”

San Giusto

San Giusto a Rentennano is located in Gaiole in Chianti, one of the southernmost villages in the Chianti Classico region, where more and more small and medium-sized wine producers are focusing on sustainable viticulture. Luca has never concerned himself with the passing trends in the wine world. “Being a good winemaker is much more important than engaging in public relations.” San Giusto is about more than elaborate stories and complicated philosophies.

“Perfectly executed, but not necessarily entry-level chianti.”

Luca Martini

Luca makes full-bodied wines that take time to mature. Perfectly executed, but not necessarily entry-level chianti. At San Giusto they follow the principles of biodynamic viticulture, they have been certified organic since 2006, and, in addition to that, are 80% self-sufficient in terms of energy use and use a circular water system.

The wines are made from sangiovese, canaiolo, malvasia, trebbiano and merlot. They try to make wines every year in which strong flavours and elegance perfectly come together.
