VISIT CAFÉ CENC

VISIT CAFÉ CENC

Even when the weather isn’t quite holiday-ready, our favorite cafes and restaurants are. With their tempting terraces and warm hospitality, they are more than ready to offer you an experience that will put you in the holiday mood.

This time we want to put the spotlight on our dear friends Anja, Zwaan, Alain, Beau and Wanne. After successfully running local favorites Bar Parry and Balthazar’s Keuken, they recently opened their latest venture: Café CENC.

Situated on the bustling Vijzelgracht in Amsterdam, this café is a real eye-catcher. The owners’ choices of interior and lighting show care and attention to detail. Since CENC opened last June, they haven’t gone unnoticed. Many people, including food writers, have cheered its arrival.

The menu is teeming with clever, Mediterranean flavor combinations, showcasing the effortless finesse of the chef. Fish and seafood take centre stage, opening our eyes to all the good things the ocean has to offer. The menu is also rich in (summer) vegetable dishes.

CENC – and its clientele – has a particular fondness for zesty, thirst-quenching wines from Portugal, Spain and Italy. These wines go well with their dishes. Think of cockles in a white port beurre blanc, grilled plums with green cabbage and grilled turbot with Café de Paris butter.

As with Parry and Balthazar’s, De Wijnwinkel is delighted to supply CENC with a range of wines that is both memorabel and affordable.
